Born in the Valley
There are few things more distinctly Colombian than vallenato music. The genre was born in the Caribbean city of Valledupar and is played with an accordion, a small drum called a caja and a scraping instrument called a guacharaca. The small town of San Gil is home to the street musicians captured in this recording.
