The River Menderes valley in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region is home to Pamukkale, a natural site featuring hot springs and travertines. The ancient city of Hierapolis was built on top of the white terraces that were formed by the flowing water and the springs have been attracting human visitors for thousands of years. Vocal ducks also frequent the site, and are captured here in this recording from 2014.
