Samba
A wealth of musical styles’ roots lie in Brazil, and perhaps the best-known is the samba. Originally derived from a word meaning “naval thrust”, samba has become a popular celebratory rhythm worldwide. Many musical venues may be found in Rio’s centro, but on Friday nights, the real party is outside with the Lapa District’s street musicians.
