Sistema de Transporte Colectivo
Mexico City is the largest metropolitan area in the western hemisphere and the largest Spanish speaking city in the world. Serving this massive population is the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo (STC), better known as the Metro. The first line opened in 1969 and it is the second largest metro system in North America after New York. The busy trains serve over 1.5 billion passengers throughout the year.
