Fregatidae
The magnificent frigatebird is the largest of the five species of frigatebirds. It can have a wingspan that measures over 200 cm. Large numbers of these seabirds nest on the Galápagos Islands. The males are all black, aside from a large, bright red throat pouch that inflates like a balloon during the mating season to attract females. They tap their beak against this membrane, creating this unique sound.
