Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve is located south of New Orleans. The area’s marshes and swamps are home to a diverse ecosystem that includes alligators, snakes, turtles, and numerous species of birds. Airboats are a practical and popular way to navigate these bayous as the water level changes with the tides.
