Standing over 700 feet above the Colorado River on the Nevada and Arizona border, the Hoover Dam is one of the great engineering feats of the 20th century. Constructed during the Great Depression, it is the highest concrete dam in the western hemisphere. Over a million visitors tour the dam every year while it still provides power for nearby states.
