Call to Prayer
The Al-Azhar Mosque is located in the Islamic district of Cairo. It dates back to the founding of the city in 970 and is still considered an important center of study for Sunni Muslim theology. This recording captures a female study session inside the mosque just before the afternoon call to prayer.
