Laut Cina Selatan
The South China Sea lies north of Borneo and is considered a minor part of the Pacific Ocean. Yet, it is a legendary place and one of the four seas of classic Chinese literature. Nearly one-third of today’s world shipping routes sail this sea, even though pirates still roam the area. These waters are famed for sudden and violent storms that can sink a container liner as easily as they did cargo ships 1,000 years ago.
