Berlin is the capital and largest city in Germany and is located on the River Spree. The Victory Column stands at a large and busy intersection near the City Palace and Brandenburg Gate. Inaugurated in 1873 to commemorate a Prussian war victory, it was moved to its current location in 1939 and remains a big draw for tourists visiting the city.
