Batanai (Shona for ‘unite’) is a group led by master musician and instrument maker David Tapfuma. This recording was made in the early hours of March 18, 2014 at the band’s rehearsal space in Glen Norah, a high-density suburb just outside of Harare. Instruments heard here include marimba, hosho, and mbira.
