Sacred Waters
Waiotapu is an active geothermal zone on the northern island of New Zealand. Nearly 20 square kilometers, the area contains colorful hot springs, geysers, and a boiling mud pool. The mud pool was created by a mud volcano that was destroyed by erosion in the 1920s. Today, it is one of the best examples of bubbling mud in New Zealand.
