Catlins
Curio Bay is located on the southeast coast of the south Island of New Zealand. The area is known for its petrified forest that dates back over 180 million years. The nearby living forest was created as a replica of what the petrified forest would have looked like millions of years ago. An extremely windy day allowed for this unique recording of the local birds, the distant ocean and the strong gusts blowing through the trees.
