The Maasai are an ethnic group native to southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. There are approximately 1.5 million Maasai people in the region and they are recognizable by their distinctive customs and dress. They warmly welcome visitors to their villages, and often perform traditional dances accompanied by music and chanting.
