Casco Viejo
Casco Viejo is Panama City’s historic district. Filled with colonial architecture, the neighborhood dates back to 1673. Amidst the historic sights, one may come across examples of traditional music, such as this recording of a four person Cumbia group at Diablicos restaurant. The bass drum is known as the Caja, and the lead drum is the Tambor. They are accompanied by an accordion and a guiro.
