Steam
A fumarole is an opening of the planet’s crust that often occurs near volcanoes. These openings emit steam and sulfurous gasses and can persist for decades depending on the conditions of the volcano. This recording was captured near the emerald lakes of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing on the north island of New Zealand.
